Funds Available for Prevention Programs
The Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG)
The Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG) program is one of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) infrastructure grant programs. The Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) is a public health, data-driven, and outcomes-based prevention process that guides states and communities toward their goal of reducing substance abuse and its consequences. The SPF consists of five key steps that are critical for the success ofany comprehensive prevention initiative: needs assessment; capacity building; strategic planning;implementation of evidence-based programs, policies and practices; and evaluation/monitoring.
The objective of this grant is prevention of alcohol-related traffic crashes and fatalities in Nevada. The funding cycle ends June 30, 2010.

All activities associated with the funding must be for the implementation of those activities that meet an identified need within the community and are prioritized in Frontier Community Coalition's Comprehensive Community Prevention Plan (CCPP).
Upon completion of the application, it must be returned to the Frontier Community Coalition office. Copies of the application will be given to the FCC SPF-SIG Committee for review. The committee will then make a recommendation regarding funding approval or denial. Please contact our office at 775.273.2400 or via email at coordinator@frontiercommunity.net if you have any questions about the application process.
